Sayers Sister: 11 months in and the girls are still together

You may have noticed there hasn't been a lot of activity on Perth Food Blog lately.  It's no big deal, just life got busy and while there was time for eating, there wasn't a lot of time for food blogging.

Last week I met up with a friend who we shall label Wild-in-Bali, and her recently-one-year-old daughter, who we shall label Princess C.  We visited Sayers Sister in North Perth.  It was only once I sat down and saw the menu I realised I had actually been to Sayers Sister 11 months earlier and was ready to do a review of the place when other life stuff got busy.

So this is a strange write up where I look back over notes of Sayers Sister circa January 2016 and contrast them to Sayers Sister circa November 2016.

Little Bird Cafe: Very pretty meals that aren't awful to eat

Lately Madam Rabbit, Ms. Grey and I have been trying out hands at Northbridge Yoga on Sunday mornings.  It's ok.  There's lots of bending and stretching and that bit's fine, but then sometimes they make you chant 'Ommmm' and I'm not into that bit so much.  Also it's early in the morning and often I'm hungover at that time. So, in lieu of yoga one Sunday morning, we went out for greasy breakfast instead.  Less stretching, less weird chanting, also less yoga pants but overall I think a fair trade.

Chapels on Whatley: A perfect setting for your next oriental tea party

A Sunday brunch with Marmite, Midnight Oil, Ms Grey, Madam Rabbit and I at Chapels on Whatley, a quaint and somewhat oddball cafe in the curious suburb of Maylands.

Chapels describes itself on its website as the sum of three separate components:

  1. a retail store for 'Chapels Fine Teas';
  2. the Chapels Cafe; and
  3. an Antiques and Artifacts Emporium.

I'm staggered to realise this only now, but we limited ourselves to the Cafe and did not check out the Emporium.  Perhaps next time.

Gusto: Short shorts with your long mac

Gusto Food has been getting some great reviews on Urbanspoon lately, and so the usual crew trundled north from our recent Kensington lovefest breakfast spot to check it out.  We were genuinely suprised by what we discovered inside..
