Mr. and Ms. Foodie
Lately Madam Rabbit, Ms. Grey and I have been trying out hands at Northbridge Yoga on Sunday mornings. It's ok. There's lots of bending and stretching and that bit's fine, but then sometimes they make you chant 'Ommmm' and I'm not into that bit so much. Also it's early in the morning and often I'm hungover at that time. So, in lieu of yoga one Sunday morning, we went out for greasy breakfast instead. Less stretching, less weird chanting, also less yoga pants but overall I think a fair trade.
To celebrate my birthday, Mr and Ms Foodie, Madam Rabbit and the Pretty Shit Farmer accompanied me to the Shadow Wine Bar, a fancy'ish restaurant that is attached to the new boutique Hotel Alex on William Street, Northbridge.
We left having been adequately fed and watered, and with one of us wearing more red wine than she drank. It was an ok night, all things considered.
An impromptu breakfast for four at the always-busy Tuck Shop on Newcastle Street, Northbridge. I'd line up again, and I can't remember too many other places I've said that about.
We are now stretching the limits of 'Perth' food, but during the ANZAC Long Weekend Mr. and Ms Foodie, Marmite and Midnight Oil, Madam Rabbit and Mr Blue (i.e. moi) spent a glorious Saturday at the Eagle Bay Brewery (unsurprisingly located in Eagle Bay, just past Dunsborough). It was good. Real good. Bette Midler wind beneath my wings type good.
This Easter Sunday, a party of 10 (a mix of some oldies and some newbies) visit the Monk Brewery on the Cafe Strip in Fremantle. Not quite searching for inner solace so much as beer, we discovered a monastery that deserves a second visit.. and a third.. and a fourth..
No Mafia is one of the many new'ish small bar/restaurants on William Street in Northbridge. We stumbled in, stumbled out, and had a good time in between.
To celebrate the return of Mr and Ms Foodie (from an 8 week American/South American odyssey) and to mourn the departure of Rose Gold and the Rose Gold BF Experience (they are leaving to live in the UK for 12 months), what has been the standard group of 8 visited Big Els Latin American Fusion in Northbridge. Overall I think we'd probably agree it was more of a 'Medium Sized Els' experience
For the first entry on Perth Food Blog six friends went to el Publico for a Friday night dinner and the $45 set menu generally left a pretty sour taste in our mouths..
